Iconographic Commentary & Symbolism
Goddess Sarawati is an embodiment of knowledge and learning. She is said to ride on a white swan holding distinct attributes rosary symbolic of meditative nature; veena symbolic of music and vedas or books of ancient and sacred knowledge. She is seated on a lotus and bears an appearance common to tantric devi. The bright orange background is contrasted by a green fore ground which is covered by a rhythmic pattern representing grass.
