Last Updated: October 1, 2026

Lalita Kapilavai Arts, located in Hyderabad, India, creates and curates sacred Indian fine art, classical miniature traditions (Basohli, Kangra, Guler, and Pahari lineages), Pichwai works, and ornate Tanjore and Mysore masterworks adorned with natural pigments and authentic gold leaf. This document sets forth the comprehensive licensing, reproduction, and copyright terms governing all works presented across our exhibitions, publications, and digital archive at lalitakapilavai.com.

1. Universal Copyright Notice

Every artwork, painting, sketch, iconographic rendering, and scholarly monograph plate created by or published under Lalita Kapilavai Arts is protected under the Indian Copyright Act, 1957, the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works, and the Universal Copyright Convention.

All Rights Are Reserved. The purchase or physical acquisition of an original artwork conveys ownership of the physical object only. It does not convey any copyright, intellectual property rights, reproduction rights, or commercial licensing privileges to the collector, unless explicitly granted in a formal, bilateral written Licensing Agreement signed by Lalita Kapilavai Arts.

2. Strict Reproduction Prohibitions

Without prior written authorization from Lalita Kapilavai Arts, you may not:

  • Commercial Duplication: Reproduce, print, fabricate, or manufacture canvas prints, giclées, posters, merchandise, textiles, packaging, or decorative objects incorporating any portion of our artworks.

  • Digital Publishing: Host, re-upload, broadcast, or display digital copies of our artworks on third-party commercial portals, stock media libraries, or content syndication channels.

  • Generative AI & Machine Learning: Ingest, scrape, tokenize, or train any artificial intelligence, neural network, diffusion model, or computer vision algorithm using our artwork imagery or curatorial descriptions.

  • Derivative Works: Modify, alter, tint, adapt, collage, or create derivative compositions based on our sacred iconography or classical compositions.

  • Removal of Attribution: Crop, edit, obscure, or strip watermarks, cryptographic provenance hashes, signature inscriptions, or gallery border placards.

3. Available Licensing Categories

We welcome collaborations that honor the dignity and sacred heritage of traditional Indian art. Formal licenses are reviewed on a case-by-case basis under the following categories:

A. Scholarly & Academic Publications

Non-exclusive reproduction licenses are available for art historical journals, museum exhibition catalogs, doctoral dissertations, and educational texts. Academic applicants must provide formal accreditation details, expected print run numbers, and distributor channels.

B. Cultural, Museum & Editorial Features

Editorial permissions are granted to recognized cultural magazines, newspapers, documentaries, and verified cultural institutions covering traditional Indian art traditions.

C. Commercial, Architectural & Interior Installations

Limited, high-fidelity reproduction licenses can be structured for bespoke luxury hospitality spaces, corporate heritage suites, and prestigious architectural installations, subject to strict quality and provenance standards.

4. Mandatory Attribution & Integrity Standards

All licensed reproductions must adhere to our Curatorial Integrity Standards:

  • Standard Credit Line: Every authorized reproduction must display the standard credit:

Artwork by Lalita Kapilavai Arts, Hyderabad, India. All Rights Reserved. Used with permission.

  • Color Fidelity: Pre-press proofs or digital rendering samples must receive formal proofing sign-off to ensure accurate chromatic representation of pigments, gold leaf relief, and line work.

  • No Sacred Desecration: Because many works depict sacred temple iconography, deities, and classical verses, images may never be reproduced on disposable, disrespectful, or culturally incongruous media.

5. Digital Watermarking & Provenance Protection

All artwork previews published on lalitakapilavai.com are embedded with digital watermarks, dynamic anti-scraping protections, and cryptographically verified provenance records. Unauthorized removal, evasion, or tampering with these protection mechanisms constitutes a willful violation of international intellectual property laws.

6. How to Request a License

To submit a licensing or reproduction inquiry, please write directly to our curatorial desk with the following details:

  1. Title(s) of the artwork(s) or monograph plates requested.

  2. Specific intended use (academic book, documentary film, cultural exhibition, architectural installation).
