Iconographic Commentary & Symbolism
This painting is a study of facial features of a nayika in Guler style of Pahari tradition. The delicate facial features are brought out by dry brush technique carefully built over layers of minimal usage of the pigments. The flakes of gold leaf in the background adds to the grandeur of the face and is a Mughal feature.
