Kalaprayanam 2026
Exhibition Overview & Program Notes
Most of the artwork presented in this exhibition is rooted in the Basohli idiom of Pahari painting—a style I have studied closely for its bold lines and distinct imagery inspired by poetic texts and religious themes. Alongside these pieces are paintings in the Chaurapancashika style, which preceded the Basohli tradition, as well as the Guler and Kangra styles that dominated the Pahari hills a few decades later. Ultimately, my explorations of the Pichwai, Tanjore, and Mysore traditions—blending both art and craft—remain deeply aligned with my ongoing journey of self-discovery.
